Please Donate to Summer Fundraising Auction

auction 2012We welcome you to join the annual summer fundraising auction at Serenity Ridge on Friday, June 30, and ask for your donations to help make this annual event a success. Proceeds from the auction will go toward much-needed help complete the new building at Serenity Ridge.

The auction will be held near the end of the first week of the Summer Retreat  with Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche (June 25–July 8). This year Ligmincha celebrates its 25th anniversary. The Summer Retreat teachings will focus on two topics each week: Bön dzogchen pith instructions and teachings from the Bön Mother Tantra. These are the focus of Rinpoche’s own personal practice and the core of his teachings for the past 25 years.

Fundraising for New Building

New building renderingThe auction is an important public fundraising event for Ligmincha International and Serenity Ridge Retreat Center. This year’s auction is particularly important because proceeds are needed to complete the new building at Serenity Ridge. Additional expenses, such as removal of large rocks at the construction site, and new enhancements have added to the amount funds needed to complete the building.

The multipurpose facility, expected to be completed later this year, will house a warm and spacious welcome and registration area, an expansive meditation deck overlooking the mountain; an upgraded kitchen and dining hall with seating enough for everyone; and a large practice and meeting room that can be subdivided for smaller groups; and a professional-quality recording studio for recording Rinpoche and other Bön lamas to better support the cyber-sangha and the preservation of Bön Buddhism for future generations.

Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche has been involved during every phase of design and construction. He has chosen for the three highest rooftops to be gold-colored according to the Tibetan tradition, rather than blue, the original plan. And on the main floor as office entrance will be beautiful mandalas of the Bön Mother Tantra and of Sherap Chamma, the Mother of Wisdom and Love. Rinpoche is currently working with Lama Yungdrung Lodoe of the Mexican sangha on the design of the front entrance. Donations will make a real difference in terms of the level and quality of decorative and finish work.4
